This Sweet Bread of Basil

just before it disappeared and the golden coin in it that was found by the one with a golden heart. While not an actual Vasilopita, it was disguised as one for underneath the customary powdered sugar pita, was my signature celebratory birthday cake (minus the frosting) for a rock star mama and on the coat tail of Epiphany, a runner up to a king cake. While traditionally closely resembling a galete, but more so for an element of surprise embedded within this sweet flavoring cake symbolizing the eternal sweetness and joy of life, the golden coin holder is to anticipate royalty for the rest of the day with expectancy that luck will happen this year and to live in the fulfilment of it…expect good things to come dearest ones. And so after the aperitif glasses, the queso fresco, the lip-smacking chops, the much anticipated showpiece came through for us once again, but the sweet company in this cozy nook just before sundown is just as noteworthy…something wonderful is happening.
