The Poetry Within

The color suits you.
It softens you.
It even sweetens you up.
Come closer weary one.
Let me see what you can’t say,
What those salty tracks have etched down that chiseled face of yours.
What have they done to you child of God?
By gosh, do something quickly for the love of humanity.
Or did they take that from you.
I always like seeing hopeful signs on stormy days.
Let me take another look.
My eyes are willing to see the poetry within.
Your heart still has space.
Let go of the lesson, it’s not meant to embrace.
Can you feel them?
Wrapped around you all this time.
You are held,
You always have been.
