Culture Shift

What I still can’t grasp is how we as sentient beings with the highest consciousness among the animal kingdom are the only species that can think that some entity has the power to restrict our movement, direct how we breathe or decide what gets injected into us…it’s so absurd to me. What also feels ominous these days is how almost instantaneously we grew from tolerant to cancel culture, from supportive to disruptive, from decent to crude, from optimistic to cynical, from encouraging to judgmental. We are sleeping at the wheel and as Thomas Jefferson once said, “the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” Let me remind you of the landmark decision, Pleesy v. Ferguson, made by the U.S. Supreme Court that codified the constitutional doctrine for racial segregation laws. In the eyes of the court as long as the segregated facilities were equal in quality, African-Americans could be served separately from the white population. The term “separate but equal,” sounds as insidious as any of the above culture shifts being shoved down our throats currently. My question to all is if we knew the separate but equal doctrine was iniquitous and erroneous on all levels, why did people allow life to go on with the latest disturbing calibration from the highest court for another fifty-five years until Rosa Parks decided it was time to challenge one of the worst decisions in U.S. Supreme Court history. We don’t have another fifty-five years to wise up and enable more variants, more cyber-attacks, another climate change (what does that even mean?), alien invasion, a zombie apocalypse or whatever the name for their next plandemic will be. We the People hold the power. Let’s take back the reigns, gain some discernment and not brood about how we are perceived in the eyes of the courts.
