Salt of the Earth

Restrictions do something to your mind. They can convince you that you deserve to be in this underprivileged place in life. A little reminder that these beholden faces provide me with everything needed to think otherwise. Every second I dive deep into their eyes, a depth beyond daily living, swirling in absolute courage, freely raw and authentic an undeniable reflection of their existence. We don’t deserve this they cry out. And yet barely out of infancy of their esoteric bodies still delicate, young, bold, beautiful, bursting with life, about to display their mature gifts to the world. No time to muck through obscurity in the chaos of burgeoning youth; it’s time to let them know what’s in our hearts, you elegant beings. No exemption, no exceptions freedom is for every living being and it’s your God-given right to uphold this realm to a higher tier of fairness for humanity. Are you prepared to seal the fate of all children who come after us with silence? It would be the ultimate act of cowardice if we lost our savor, lost our value for ourselves and others. With my very last breath, I will voice my words with loving intent for I can’t face their glimmering eyes that would one day extinguish their light and implore why didn’t you pledge for our existence?

…You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.… -Matthew 5:13
